I am a farmer and a doula. My husband and I are recently planted into the soil of East Texas. Together we seek, we learn, we dance, we sing, and we grow vegetables, and I attend births. This blog is the ongoing story of our farming and birthing journey.

farm truck

We are blessed here at Maple Hill Farm to have a beautiful black V8  F-150 to use for all our farming needs- we'll take it to town when the roads would be better managed by a big V8 truck than our little 4 banger, we'll use it to haul loads of wood and potting soil and animal feed and lumber and mulch, we won't have to pay for gas on it. it's quite delightful.

Unfortunately we dont have it right now.  It was borrowed by our boss's daughter's ex-fiance to drive down to Ashville back in October when he needed to drive home but his Jeep's battery was dead.  Kindly he drove it all the way back this weekend, a 9 hour drive, and all day Saturday he was working on his Jeep so he could return home.  He told us throughout the day about a pretty large handful of problems that were happening with the F-150, we noticed that the oil change is 4000 miles over due etc etc.  we ran to town in our car that afternoon and he was gone with his Jeep when we got back, so luckily his own car troubles were worked out.  He is a pretty skilled self-taught mechanic.

This morning we went to the F-150, wanting to take it to the hardware store.
The battery was dead.
We opened the hood.
We saw that he switched the battery from his Jeep and put it in the F-150.

Stellar guy.

Julie, our boss is a little ticked, btu she said she isn't surprised.  She's kindly taking care of all of that, though, and we'll have it back from the mechanic within a few days with all its problems fixed.   Sheesh.

  1. Ok, so at the top it says you and Justin are dancing in Pennsylvania. Can you send video proof?

I'm glad you all are getting settled. You should post a blog about Olga.
