Looking back, I have:
- discoved more about teaching inner city children
- sown winter seeds and struggled to keep them watered before germination
- been all decked out in a $200 dress and $65 shoes as a bridesmaid
- sung with a string quartet in my classically trained soprano style which I should be proud of, not embarrassed by
- rejoiced in the announcement of 1, 2, 3, and now 4 friend's pregnancies, phew!
- for two months now, enjoyed more than I can express the tangible, real life presence of the man I love more than any other.
- enjoying a cold house, a warm blanket, a cup of tea, and 2 days of solitude with no boyfriend and no roommates, only chickens and vegetables to keep me company.
- reflecting on the cinematic beauty that is Brother Sun, Sister Moon- the story of St. Francis of Asissi.
- preparing to watch, for the second time, La Misma Luna (Under the Same Moon). This movie is worth owning, and therefore, I will own it. Then, if you live close enough, you can just borrow it from me rather than buying it yourself. I gave it 5 stars and lots of tears of unspeakable joy.
- fighting, fighting, fighting this three month sinus infection. Seriously- three months. I have a doctor's appointment for Next Monday. Yes, I am giving in to either antibiotics or steroids. Which is the lesser evil, anyone? Advice please, before Monday.
- chopping vegetables, cooking meat, and organizing bags of food for the 5 day trip to Enchanted Rock with all my boys and one of my girls.
Looking forward, I am anticipating:
- buying fireworks
- interviews with Neil, Dale, Matt, etc for the WHRI internship
- Nearly a week of climbing in the hill country
- applying for midwifery schools- New Mexico, Vermont, Utah, even El Paso, TX
- trying on the new fancy ring that Terry is making for us
- giving the last three Christmas gifts
- friends coming home from far, far, far away
- lots of babies being born- you can't have too many nephews and nieces
peace to you all
Shalom
