but my heart is quite settled.
I haven't been too sure where to call my home these days. With this unavoidable yet timely season of [meager] financial profit demanding that I meander around the state, I find myself zipping in and out of airports and rental cars, bartering for reasonable room and board, adjusting flights only to have them canceled (my most recent test of patience and sanity). I still spend copious amounts of money to have a place to lay my head at night and I pay 10 dollars to use the iron. I'm sure I've already exceeded my 2007 carbon footprint simply by eating out of Styrofoam to-go containers.
My experience in the corporate world, viewing up close the ladder so many of our peers and relations are climbing, comes to a close at the end of May. And my next move couldn't be a finer complementing foil. I will come away from this buzzing suburban game and enter into the retreat of the California Redwoods. I will let out a massive metaphorical exhale and release all of my inner corporate exhaust into the ready embrace of those ancient trees. yippie.
But this time [thankfully] is only temporary, all of it. The transitory nature of my present work, the transient nature of myself and my travels to the west. I only have it for a short season, so today I will work my tail off to reap as much of the monetary benefit as I can. I have bills to pay back home. Yes, back home.
hear that?! I have a glorious home in Waco, Texas. I finalize the deal on Thursday when my big check clears (yikes!) You should come visit me and my glorious companions on Fort. You really should. I'll introduce you to the neighbors (I haven't actually met most of them yet). And if you're just passing through, Ellie, TJ and I will give you a place to sleep at least.
I have a home. It's very joyous to have your own home even though this is not one of lasting and permanent stuff. It is reason to give thanks.
Shalom
wait, are you living with ellie and tj now, not daniel, haley & marianna (sp?) ???
